IS issues orders to its top commanders to stop filming beheadings and disseminating videos on social networks without explicit permission.
The IS has issued orders to its senior commanders to stop filming and to stop disseminating videos of beheadings, the Lebanese newspaper As-Safir reports, as it causes damage to their reputation.
They also arrested a number of senior commanders for making pronouncements that are opposed to IS doctrine. For instance, one commander said that al Qaida leader Ayman al-Zawahiri is an apostate because he refused to say that Shia Muslims are apostates. The commander was arrested for this breach of protocol.
Another commander said the Free Syria Army were apostates and was arrested by IS for the statement.
Yet another commander, Abu Amar al Kuwaiti was arrested for failing to toe the IS line on Facebook and Twitter.
Yet another commander was shot to death by IS, As-Safir reports, for supposedly having ties with British intelligence.
Observers in the Arab world believe the reason for this latest spate of arrests is an attempt to unify the various Sunni factions in Syria, ahead of renewed attacks on the Syrian government.
Meanwhile, photos of the Islamic State's black flag are showing up on Facebook accounts in Israel, including photos shot in front of the Temple Mount, in Nazareth and in Acre.
